Radio party rocks, Wizards look to get on a roll

March 29, 2014

First, a big thanks to all our listeners for connecting during the broadcast. We love that we have more and more people listening on 87.9 FM inside Verizon Center. Remember we built a transmitter inside the arena for you---crystal clear sound and no delay!

The Wizards got it done on defense in a 91-78 win over the Pacers.

Our Wizards Report in a quick minute

For a dose of audio candy, we have the complete story.

Win over the Pacers in highlights and sound bites. LISTEN:

Randy Wittman:

“This is what we’ve been talking about heading into the west coast trip. Our intensity level for 48 minutes at wane. And we lost that edge a little bit in terms of we waited until we got down before we really played with effort and intensity and we’ve been talking about it. We showed nothing in the Phoenix game of when we were being embarrassed and how we got it from 25 to four or three. This is how you have to play for 48 minutes if you want to be a good team and they did tonight. We didn’t shoot the ball very well. Trevor Ariza 2-for-12 and Bradley Beal 2-for-13, the two wing guys. And we win by 13. And we did it defensively. [Indiana has a] turnover 17 times and we only had 10 with a couple shot clock violations. This was a team win, too, I thought. I thought our bench came in and gave us a huge lift in the first half. And our bench ends up outscoring their bench, which is always important. Marcin [Gortat] in the middle I thought protected the rim tonight great. And they had trouble scoring over him. Trevor Ariza, Paul George had to get 22 shots to get 19, that’s always a plus.”

On to the Hawks tonight.

The Hawks had Friday off and are looking to stop a five-game losing streak. Beware. The Hawks are a scrappy team led by a scoring point guard in Jeff Teague, and Paul Millsap is a versatile player who is a difficult defensive assignment.

Look for our Fast Break preview which is on Monumental Network beginning at 12 Noon.
