The Wizards showed patience. The first half was less than convincing, but it didn't matter. The Wizards stayed committed on defense and shared the wealth on offense to script a 97-83 win over the Bobcats.
Marcin Gortat had 18 points and 13 rebounds but he said after the game he was more pleased with limiting Al Jefferson to only six points.
Trevor Booker helped the Wizards seize control of the game in the third quarter when he scored 8 of his 12 points.

And everyone contributed. For the second straight game Jan Vesely provided a spark off the bench.

“We didn’t start the game making shots but we never lost that bounce and fire. When you give yourself a chance you can turn a game around. That’s what we did. Of course only having seven turnovers was key, but we had different guys give us a boost. Trevor Booker in the third quarter was great. He had solid play on both ends of the floor. Bradley Beal was good in the fourth quarter, and Gortat, I told him that he could play Al Jefferson. He fought him all night long. He turned it into an 18 (points) and 13 (rebounds) night. Overall it was a good effort.”
