Through seven games Trevor Ariza has delivered on both ends of the floor. Last night in Dallas Ariza was at it again with 27 points, 7 rebounds and 4 steals as he tried to guide the Wizards back from a 15-point deficit before losing to the Mavericks 105-95.
Ariza opened the season with 28 points against Detroit and has been in double figures scoring in every game except last Friday against Brooklyn. On defense Ariza is one of the premier perimeter defenders in the NBA and his activity is critical in helping the Wizards get out on the break.
Last night's loss in Dallas was frustrating. It started with promise and a nine-point first quarter lead. Bradley Beal explains:
"We played so aggressively and so hard against OKC. It was like game 7 of the finals or something. Then now, we come out tonight and not have the same mentality. Whenever we have leads or whenever we have comebacks, we need to take full advantage of those. Tonight we didn’t convert on either end.”
Tonight the San Antonio Spurs provide the opposition. The Wizards have not won here since December of 1999.
