Wall and Beal Rock-N-Roll in Bluegrass State

October 20, 2013
Okay, there were too many turnovers for the Wizards in Saturday's 93-89 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans at Kentucky's Rupp Arena. The Wizards had 28 turnovers. It should be noted the Pelicans were not much better with 25 turnovers, but the concern is the Wizards. Turnovers have been an issue in every preseason game with the exception of Thursday's game against the Knicks when the Wizards only had eight miscues.

Moving beyond the turnovers, the development of John Wall and Bradley Beal continued to excite. Playing in front of many of the fans who watched him in college at Kentucky, Wall had a double-double with 16 points and 11 assists. Beal finished with 30 points and almost tied the game in the closing seconds on a drive to the basket, but had his shot blocked by former Kentucky star Anthony Davis. Regardless of whether or not Beal was fouled on that last play, his confidence in driving to the basket has been one of the revelations of this preseason.
